Here and There

LAKE IMUTA
Lake Imuta, a small lake higher up in the hills near my house. It's busy on summer weekends with families on boats, kids feeding the swans, and couples biking around the lake.
This is how I get to work.

MT KAIMON
So the other weekend a bunch of us kids decided to conquer the great mountain that is Mount Kaimon. After a few months of intense training, the perfect sunny Saturday came along for us to take on this challenge. It was the most physically demanding climb I have ever done in my entire life. It took a grueling 2 hours, and that's including rest breaks! Of course, the torture was all worth it once we saw the view from the top.

Casey, Keith, Marta and Josh enjoying a well deserved picnic on top, after all their hard work.

Mt Kaimon is in the very south of Satsuma Peninsula (a.k.a. my side). The climbing crew was mostly made up of ALTs from the other side, Osumi Peninsula. For those paying attention to maps, you'll notice I am too far up north to actually belong to a peninsula, but I try, cause I like the sound of Satsuma and the labeling of "other".
