spring break

It's Friday afternoon at school, mid-spring break. The baseball team is outside running around in the grass and dirt. The TV is on in the staff room, we're watching the baseball game of course (that's the only reason the TV will go on.) There are only about half of the teachers in the office this afternoon, the other half seemed to drop off after lunch... I wonder if anyone will notice if I walk out the door and not come back today (probably not.) I think that's what the other teachers did. There are a million unwritten rules about how to break the rules that everyone just seems to know.

Today at lunchtime I went home and after I ate I hung about in my hammock enjoying the warm midday sun. Except it's hot, I could feel it burning my skin after a few minutes. I feel like it's camping season! It still gets really cold at night, down to 0, and yesterday it hailed here! But when it's a warm sunny afternoon, it's hard not to think about running off into the mountains and jumping into a lake.
